Saint Martin’s Year 9 students had the opportunity to spend a day at DMU’s new Vijay Patel Building which is home to the art and design courses and is the centrepiece of the £136 million Campus Transformation Project. The Arts Tower accommodates the new Leicester School of Art which, together with the Design Wing, covers the full spectrum of visual arts, design and architecture. The building is named after Dr Vijay Patel, Chief Executive Officer of Waymade Healthcare. Dr Patel, a graduate of DMU's Leicester School of Pharmacy, and his wife Mrs Patel donated £1million to help financially-disadvantaged students. The Year 9s worked with both university staff and undergraduate students to produce a Visual Curriculum Vitae (CV). The CV concentrated on four main areas; values and beliefs, team working skills, multiple intelligence skills and goal setting all of which were specific to each individual student. Plus, during the day they had a campus tour and enjoyed lunch in the new food court.
