Applying to SAINt Martin's

We are committed to providing an exceptionally high quality Christian based education for students in our care. We welcome any families who support this ethos and welcome visits from prospective parents, both at open evenings and any other time of the year.  We are currently full in all year groups.

Admissions
The St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.

Please click on the link below to be directed to the St Thomas Aquinas webpage where you can view the 2021/2022 admission policies.

Admissions - St Thomas Aquinas – Catholic Multi-Academy Trust (aquinas-cmat.org)

Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round, for example for a Year 7 application, will be added to the schools' waiting list unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The waiting list will remain open until the end of the academic application year.  If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year.

In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made to the relevant Local Authority by completing the LA Common Application Form and following instructions on the LA website.

Leicestershire County Council – School admissions | Leicestershire County Council

If applying for a place on faith grounds you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form and return this to the school office.  Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published over-subscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements will be applied.  Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.  If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.  You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.  You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is  unsuccessful.  If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact Rachel Trotman in the school office on 01455 212386.

You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with your local authority.

Passenger Transport Services Team - Leicestershire County Council

Since 2015 there has been a change to how the eligibility to free school transport has been assessed for pupils living in Leicestershire. It is no longer linked to school admission policies (e.g. catchment areas and feeder schools) and therefore we would like to again remind parents of the Home-to-School Transport policy and how eligibility is assessed. This information has also been included on the reverse of the admissions letter sent to all Year 6 families recently, so that parents may make informed choices when considering school applications.

Many thanks
