Here at Saint Martin's Catholic Academy, we believe it is important to start CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) from Year 7.   Our Careers Leader, Mrs Tones is available to support students from any year group in school regarding their career decisions and to explore with them what opportunities are available to them as they progress through school.  Our aim is to support career preparation and promote work related learning for our students.  We do this via a range of activities including Skills Booklets, Inspirational talks, College/University Visits and workshops.

At Saint Martin’s we are committed to implementing the Eight Gatsby Benchmarks across Years 7 to 11, the benchmarks for which are outlined below:
  1. A stable careers programme
  2. Learning from career and labour market information
  3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
  4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
  5. Encounters with employers and employees

Trips - News & Letters

On Tuesday 12th October we took a small group of Year 10 students to De Montfort University to gain an insight into University Life. They got to experience a lecture, visit many areas of the campus, including seeing what student accommodation looks like and completed a group task to design their dream university.
