Tuesday, 26th June
Saint Martin’s held their Futures Event on 26th June. This provided the opportunity for students, parents and carers to meet a great deal of different employers and staff from education in the same place. The hall was buzzing with a number of employers and apprenticeship providers along with the armed forces. Companies such as Aldi, Rolls-Royce, NHS and Galliford Try all were represented. Whilst in the dining room, there were two colleges, three universities and staff from seven sixth form schools/colleges. Saint Martin’s were so grateful for the participants giving up their time. This makes a big difference to our students and their important decision making. A parent remarked ‘very pleased to see this event at Saint Martin’s, so vital for our young people’ and a parent kindly telephoned to express her thanks but also to say how beneficial the excellent evening had been for her son.
Some photos from the presentation evening for the Hinckley and Bosworth school sport and Physical activity network Advanced Leadership Academy Celebration evening at Bosworth Academy. Eleven of our students received their nationally recognised leadership qualification. Jack Dennis also received a special recognition award. Some of these students have been selected to volunteer at the National school games at Loughborough uni in August.
The year 7 rounders tournament was held at St. Martin's yesterday in glorious sunshine.
6 local teams entered - South Charnwood, Heath Lane Academy, Hinckley Academy, TMBS, Hastings and St. Martin's. Games were close and all played in very good spirits. The final was played between TMBS and St. Martin's. In a very close match, showcasing some great talent, we just lost out 5-6.
