Ski Italy 2020
In January 50 year 8 students and 5 members of staff travelled to Passo Tonale, Italy for St. Martin’s 17th ski trip. Flying with British Airways, we landed in Milan to glorious weather and travelled up to the resort, passing the beautiful Lake Iseo. As usual we stayed at the Hotel Dolomiti with excellent service, food and ‘door step’ skiing. The Bulferetti family are the most wonderful hosts and are firm friends of Saint Martin’s.
We were blessed with wonderful weather during our week away, along with fantastic snow conditions. The majority of our skiers were beginners with minimal time spent on snow and, as such, the progress they all made was very impressive and we were so proud of their achievements on the snow. After a great day’s skiing we still had the energy for evening activities - karaoke, disco, a trip to Ponte di Legno where visited the beautiful church followed by hot chocolate and swimming in the Mirella Hotel. The night skiing was a particular highlight and the Saint Martin’s 45 people ski snake was an impressive sight.
Our joint Ski Italy/USA evening was an opportunity to share video, photographs, stories, certificates and prizes, marking the end of a great ski trip. We would like to thank Mrs Orton for organising the refreshments for the evening and helping to make it such a success. We really appreciate the very positive feedback from parents and students alike, many of whom acknowledged the immense hard work given by Mrs Murphy to ensure yet another exceptional trip to Passo Tonale.
Ski Italy 2021 is already booked with applications from 77 students.
