Physical Education
Physical Education at St Martin’s is for every student, regardless of ability and perceived sporting prowess. Our philosophy is one of inclusion, participation, enjoyment, improvement, learning and effort. Every student, whether a team member or a leisure/fun performer is expected to do his/her best at all times. Only 100% effort is accepted.
Throughout KS3 students are taught all major games, (football, rugby, netball, basketball) handball, badminton, orienteering, fitness (aerobics, circuit training), cross country, gymnastics, cricket, athletics, softball and rounders.
At KS4 students will, at times, be given a little more flexibility to choose areas for participation in a more leisure based environment but will also participate in a more structured sporting timetable including games, fitness testing, leadership, personal fitness and exercise, aerobics, athletics, cricket and tennis.
