Spiritual life
Saint Martin's was founded in 1948 by the Dominican Sisters of St Catherine of Siena based in King William's Town, South Africa. Our Catholic heritage is the foundation of our school and influences all aspects of school life. As such, supporting our pupils to develop spiritually and morally is of fundamental importance. Prayer is a normal part of school life as is a focus on kindness, charity and religious development. Divinity (Religious Education) is a core subject alongside Maths, English and Science. All pupils sit GCSE RE.

THE NATIONAL HOLOCAUST CENTRE & MUSEUMA Year 9 group visited The National Holocaust Centre & Museum @HolocaustCentUK this week. We met the Holocaust survivor Martin Stern and heard about his extraordinary story, a real privilege. He was born in Hilversum in Holland in September 1938. When the Nazis invaded Holland in 1940, Martin's father went into hiding and his mother was taken to hospital to give birth, where she later died. Martin went to stay with his parents' friends. One day, an innocent mistake led Martin to Westerbork and then onto Theresienstadt. Click here for his story.

Adoration of the blessed SacramentLent 2018This Lent our daily prayer slides are focussing on the themes of this season. Our focus is prayer and charity and we are raising money for two very good causes. The first is for CAFOD which is the Catholic international development charity in England and Wales. Cafod supports some of the poorest people in the world to help fight poverty. Our second Charity is the Heart Link Children's Charity which supports children with heart defects. It is based at the EMCHC at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester.
Thank you for those who what helped to raise money through various fund raising events like of cake sale, non-uniform and other events.
