The Funeral Cortège of Richard III
As you may know, we are situated on the edge of the historic Battle of Bosworth site. On Sunday March 22nd 2015, Saint Martin’s students have been invited to form the guard of honour for when Richard III’s funeral cortège arrives in Dadlington. This is a remarkably historic occasion, the burial of the last Plantagenet King of England.
We are also involved in the memorial service and have an exhibition of Battle of Bosworth inspired art work in Dadlington Village Hall. Families are also welcome to attend the commemorations in the village.
If your son or daughter would like to be part of this extraordinary event, can you please complete the letter sent home with students and return to school. Any students who attend will need to gather at 11.30-45 in full school uniform on the village green opposite Ambion Court Hotel. There will be a commemoration service and the cortege will arrive at about 1.10pm. The outline of the commemorations and other important details are on the back of this letter.
