Connecting Classrooms - Zimbabwe Partnership....
Saint Martin’s was founded by the Dominicans in the 1940s. The particular branch of the Dominican’s Order was the King William’s Town Dominicans. This was a South African Order who, in 1948 bought a Victorian Lodge on a small estate on the edge of Stoke Golding to set up a school, originally called Blessed Martin in the Fields, so here we are! Click here for some interesting history of our school. In order to develop our historical international links, we successfully applied to a Connecting Classrooms Project funded by the British Council. We have linked up with another school founded by the same King William’s Town Domi_nicans, but this time in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The project involves setting up a project between ourselves and St Dominic’s Secondary School just outside of Harare. Mrs Lynch-Kelly and Mr Noon visited the school in July 2015. In exchange, Sr Rose who is Deputy Head Teacher at Saint Dominic’s will be visiting us, hopefully in March. More details about this exciting project will follow…..!
