Our Eco Club has had an exciting and busy year, full of activities that reflect our students’ enthusiasm and commitment to caring for the environment.
Around the school grounds, students have been planting trees, flowers, and vegetables in our raised beds, learning how to grow food sustainably while brightening our surroundings. We also take pride in keeping our school and local area clean through regular litter-picking sessions.
This year, we have focused especially on conservation and protecting wild birds. Linked with this, we have worked closely with Sustainable Eco-Schools Leicester and taken part in wider community initiatives. Our trips to places such as Butterfly Land, the Sea Life Centre, Twycross Zoo, and Birdland Paradise have given students the chance to strengthen their knowledge about wildlife and biodiversity.
To support our activities, students have organised bake sales, and our annual Eco Fair in the summer is always a highlight. The Eco Fair brings the whole community together, with stalls selling plants, second-hand books, and uniforms, as well as displays from local environmental charities. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase everything they’ve achieved throughout the year.
The Eco Club continues to grow and inspire, proving that small actions, when taken together, can make a big difference to our planet.
