Construction and the Built Environment is for learners who want to acquire sector-specific applied knowledge and skills through vocational contexts by  studying practical skills used in construction. The qualification enables learners  to develop their sector-specific skills, such as using tools and materials safely with vocationally correct techniques, interpreting and understanding the infrastructure for safe and efficient work, and specialist design techniques to enhance communication of design by using realistic vocational contexts. The qualification recognises the value of learning skills, knowledge and vocational attributes to complement GCSEs.
