On Tuesday 30th June 60 Y7 and Y8 pupils were treated to a morning of Civil War re-enactment on the school field. The weather, cloudy but not rainy, was perfect and the children were taught to push the pike, swordfight and fire muskets. The children were also able to handle genuine period artefacts and learned about life in the 17th century.
You may have heard the musket firing finale – please don’t worry! Police were informed in advance!
The day – organised by the history department in conjunction with the Sealed Knot Civil War Re-enactment society was a huge success and we hope the soldiers will return next year for a repeat performance!
