Week beginning January 23rd 2016
We welcome back our Year 8 Ski Trip Pupils, thanks to our staff who gave up a week to take them on this great trip to Italy. Some photos below.....
The Secondary school league tables were published last week, in our first year Saint Martin's did exceptionally well as one of the highest performing school in the East Midlands. On the old measure of 5+ A*-C Grades including English and maths, we were the highest state school in the county. On the new Progress 8 measure (looking at the actual progress pupils make) we were 3rd in the county. An amazing first set of results, well done to our class of 2016 and their teachers! Each week we produce a Parental Briefing for up and coming events, it can be accessed on the Parent's drop down tab or click here.

Zimbabwe Connecting Classrooms Partnership
We have been awarded a grant by the British Council to develop a link with a school overseas. We have partnered up with a sister Dominican School, Saint Dominic’s just outside Harare, Zimbabwe. The school was founded by the same South African Kings William Town Dominican Sisters who founded Saint Martin’s in the 1940s. Mrs Lynch-Kelly and Mr Noon visited Zimbabwe at the beginning of the summer holidays. They linked up with an orphanage that we hope to support as a school community: the Mother of Peace Orphanage was set up in 1994 to help orphans living with or affected AIDS/HIV.
